MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru celebrated 69th Kannada Rajyotsava 2024 on 29 th November, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS, Bengaluru. The Chief Guest of the day was Shri. Y.K. Muddu Krishna, Former Director of Kannada and Samskriti Ilake, Santa Shishunala Sharifa Award Winner, President Karnataka Sugama Sangitha Parishad, Bengaluru. He emphasized on how Karnataka is not just a state but it is our culture and how Kannada is not just our language but also our tradition. The Guest of Honour, Shri. Shravan Prabha, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru. He spoke regarding advocacy and how to balance our passion with it. He also spoke about the relevance of celebrating Kannada Rajyothsava. The programme was expertly presided over by C A Dr. A.S. Vishnu Bharath, Trustee, R V Educational Institutions, Governing Council Member, MKPM RVILS. He discussed the expansion of the MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies as well as the significance of the Kannada Rajoytsava celebration. Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal of MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, was also present at the program, graciously chairing it and giving a sincere welcome speech. Principal spoke about the essence and the culture of Karnataka and Kannada and the importance of 69th Kannada Rajyotsava 2024 which is being celebrated at the MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, Bengaluru. The Staff and Students attended the program enthusiastically and the students participated in cultural events organized by the college.
Siddhanta Constitutional Quiz – 2024 was organised to mark the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of our Constitution. The poster of Siddhanta Constitutional Quiz was unveiled on 26th October, 2024 at Yuvapatha, Jayanagar, by Shri. Ganapathi Prasanna, Special Public Prosecutor for the Directorate of Enforcement, Bangalore Zone. The registration process commenced on 9th Nov, 2024. A total of 30 teams from various Institutes across Bengaluru registered for the competition. The inaugural ceremony was scheduled at 9:30 am at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS and was graced by Smt. Lakshmi Iyengar, Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka and presided over by our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R. The Inaugural ceremony was followed by the competition. The competition comprised three rounds including preliminary round, semi-finals, and finals. The valedictory was scheduled at 3:30 pm and was graced by Shri. Harish S, Member, Karnataka Bar Council., Smt. Mamata, Professor, Vijaya Degree College and presided by Prof. Dr. Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies. Siddarth and Sushant Patil of KLE Law College secured the 1st prize. Apul Vaishnav and Suvansh Mahajan of National Law School of India University secured the 2nd place. K.R Shankar Reddy and Priya of St Joseph’s College of Law. The top 3 teams were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 8,000 respectively.
In light of celebration of 69th Kannada Rajyotvasa, 2024, the Debate and Literary Society and Cultural Club organized a series of competitions from 21st to 23rd November, 2024. The events were: · Kavita Baraha Sparde (Poetry Writing Competition) on the theme“Namma Samskruti” · Aashubhashana Sparde (Pick and Speak Competition) · Prabandha Sparde (Essay Writing Competition)- on the topic “Gokaak varadiya tribhasha soothradinda kannada bhasheya meladha prabhava” · Chitrakala Sparde (Painting Competition) The results were declared and winners were presented with trophies and certificates on the day of celebration of 69th Kannada Rajyotsava, 2024.
Legal Services Clinic, MKPM RVILS and TELE MANAS, NIMHANS conducted a programme in light of World Mental Health Day, 2024 on 12th November, 2024 at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS. The Chief Guests for the day were Dr. Sarandha Srivastava, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, TELE MANAS, NIMHANS and Ms. Sahithya, Psychiatric Social Worker, TELE MANAS, NIMHANS. The guests engaged the audience in a session that included various activities and was focused on the relevance of mental health awareness. The programme was presided by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS.
The National Legal Services Day was observed by the Legal Services Clinic and National Service Scheme Unit, MKPM RVILS on 9th November, 2024 at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS Campus. The Chief Guest for the day was Shri. Shridhar Prabhu, Advocate, Triguna Icon, Bengaluru. Sir spoke on the topic "Law Students as Vanguards of Legal Services" and about the relevance of legal services and the need for recognition of the day. The programme was presided over by our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS.
MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies celebrated Childrens' Day at Sri. S. Janardhan Government Kannada Higher Primary School, Gurupanna Palya, Bengaluru on 14th November, 2024 at 2:00 PM. The programme was conducted by the members of the National Service Scheme and presided by our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R. The students of the school were presented with various gifts including stationery sets, geometry boxes, sweets, etc. Our students also engaged in various games and other activities with the students.
The Environment Club of MKPM RVILS conducted a Keynote Session titled Environmental Stewardship by Team Hasiru on 9th November, 2024 at Mangala Mantapa, MKPM RVILS. The guest speakers for the day were Mr. Chirag S Rao, Founder and Managing Trustee of Team Hasiru, Mr. Sharath T. P., Founder Trustee, Team Hasiru, Mr. Shreesha, Volunteer Taskforce Member, Team Hasiru and Mr. Srinidhi, volunteer, Team Hasiru. The session was presided by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS. The speakers were welcomed with saplings and the session was an interactive one with lots of insights on environmental stewardship.
In observance of International day of the Girl Child, 2024, Legal Services Clinic, MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies in association with District Legal Services Authority Bengaluru Urban, organised a jatha ( awareness rally) on 23rd October 2024 in Gandhi Bazar at 8:30 am. The event was led by 55 volunteers, along with the chairman and Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Anjina Reddy K R, Ms. Bhavana C, Academic Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Law, LSC Coordinator, members and faculty members. The rally commenced at 8:30 am by giving a floral tribute at the statue of Swami Vivekananda before proceeding through Gandhi Bazar, aiming to spread awareness among street vendors and passersby about the importance of protecting and valuing the girl child. The participants raised impactful slogans to promote the cause, highlighting the significance of International day of Girl Child and advocating for the rights and respect of girls in society.
Cultural Committee, MKPM RVILS conducted the Freshers' Day, 2024 titled Initium for the batch of 2024- 25 on 19th October, 2024. The programme was presided by Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal, MKPM RVILS. During the day the senior batch students entertained the freshers with dance, music and other performances. Fashion walk was organized for the fresher batch where more than 36 students participated. Mr. Shreyas S of BBA LLB and Ms. Nainika S of BBA LLB were crowned Mr. Freshie and Ms. Freshie respectively and Mr. Tarun Kumar from BBA LLB and Ms. Vaishnavi Krishna Kashyap from BA LLB were crowned Freshie Prince and Freshie Princess respectively. The day ended with a performance by the college band "Dhun."

The occasion was also graced with the presence of Sri. Nagesh H. T., Red Cross State Committee Member, Sri. Ashwath Narayan, Treasurer, Red Cross Society, Sri. Rajeev Shetty, Chairman, Finance Committee, Sri. Shivakumar, Committee Member, Red Cross Society, Sri. Prakash, Manager, Red Cross Society, Sri. Krishna Shetty, Fire Station Officer, Jayanagar and other officers from the fire station.The programme was presided over by our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R. The Guests delivered their address on the relevance of celebrating the day and the true meaning of service. They showcased the service they had given during various disasters as well. The officers from Jayanagar Fire Station demonstrated the steps to be taken during various kinds of disasters and how to treat injured people. They also demonstrated the use of the fire extinguisher and also showed how the fire engine is used during fires.
Legal Services Clinic, MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies organized a visit to Amruthavani Vridh Seva Trust, Banashankari, Bengaluru in light of the observation of Senior Citizens' Day, 2024 at 4:00 PM on 5th October, 2024. The final-year student co-ordinators and volunteers of the clinic were joined by the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Academic Co-ordinator, Ms. Bhavana C, LSC co-ordinator, Mrs. Shilpa B. P. and other faculty members. The students interacted with the inmates of the home and spent the evening with them.
The Induction Programme for the 1st Semester BA LL.B and BBA LL.B students (Batch 2024-2025) at MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies took place from 20th to 28th September 2024, featuring a range of events and guest sessions aimed at orienting the new students.
On 20th September, the programme began with an inspiring session titled “Unleashing Your Potential: A Journey to Personal Growth” by Dr. Annapoorna Ravichandar, Professor of Practice, Department of Public Policy, Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The session was interactive and focused on personality development, communication skills, and goal-setting, motivating students to pursue their passions. Afterward, sports activities were held, where the BA LL.B boys won the cricket match, and the BBA LL.B girls won the throwball match.
On 21st September, Sri. Sreedhar, Deputy Secretary of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, gave a session on the importance and functions of the Legal Aid Clinic. He spoke about the role of students in providing pro bono services and highlighted the services the clinic offers, such as legal advice, assistance to disadvantaged people, and mediation in pre-litigation cases.
22nd September featured an interactive session on road safety and traffic rules. The guest speakers included Sri. Henry Samuel, Joint Chief Traffic Warden, along with Sri. Mahadevaiah, Sub Inspector of Jayanagar Police Station, Sri. Narayana Swamy, Head Constable, Sri. Sudhakara, Assistant Chief Traffic Warden, and Sri. Chethan, Senior Traffic Chief Warden. They gave a detailed graphical presentation on accident prevention and traffic safety.
On 23rd September, the Anti-Ragging Cell hosted an awareness session led by Mr. Sumanth Kumar T.S., Coordinator of the Anti-Ragging Cell, explaining the legal consequences of ragging and the process for completing online undertakings through the website. This was followed by a session on library rules led by Mr. Santhosh, Senior Library Staff, who briefed the students on the available resources, borrowing policies, and conduct in the library.
24th September began with a session on SCC Online by Mr. Ashok Kumar, Territorial Manager, and Mr. Savi Raj, Executive. They demonstrated how to search for case laws and legal information using the SCC platform. Later, the NSS Unit induction by Mr. Thejesh K.M., Assistant Professor of Management and NSS Coordinator, introduced students to the social service activities they could engage in, including the annual camp and regular community service activities.
On 25th September, several student clubs were introduced. Ms. Charuta Nair, Environment Club Coordinator, gave an overview of the club’s activities and its mission to promote environmental awareness. Ms. Rochani Rao, Cultural Club Coordinator, introduced the cultural events planned for the semester, including the upcoming Talent Hunt. The SC/ST Cell induction was conducted by Mrs. Shireen Sultana, Coordinator of the SC/ST Cell, who explained the scholarship application process via the SSP portal. Mr. Thejesh K.M., also the Red Cross Committee Coordinator, briefed the students on blood donation drives and other activities of the Red Cross.
26th September featured inductions for the Mediation Centre, Debate and Literary Club, and Human Rights Cell. Ms. Kumari Vaishnavi M., Mediation Centre Coordinator, explained the importance of mediation in legal education, and how students would receive practical exposure through a course taught by Mr. Prasad Subbanna, Master Trainer. Ms. Ruma Chakrabarthy, Coordinator of the Debate and Literary Club, encouraged students to participate in debates and literary activities to enhance their critical thinking and communication skills. Mrs. Shireen Sultana, Human Rights Cell Coordinator, highlighted the previous activities of the cell and stressed the importance of human rights awareness among the students.
On 27th September, the inductions for the Media Cell, Magazine Cell, and Students’ Grievance Cell took place. Ms. Charuta Nair, Coordinator of the Media Cell, explained the role of the media cell in managing the college website and showcasing student achievements. Ms. Kumari Vaishnavi M., Magazine Cell Coordinator, briefed students on how they can contribute to the college magazine, "Samarthana," with their talents and articles. Mr. Sumanth Kumar T.S., Coordinator of the Students’ Grievance Cell, emphasized that the cell addresses genuine student complaints and follows a strict protocol for resolving grievances.
Finally, on 28th September, Talent Day was conducted where the new batch of students showcased their various talents including singing, dance, stand-up comedy, etc. The events were held at Mangala Mantapa and presided over by our Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R.

Sir emphasized on the various streams of law including the new cyber laws, maternity laws, privacy laws, PILS, etc. Justice Chandrashekara also shed light on the concepts of AI and law and the reasons to choose a law course.
Prof. Dr. T.V. Raju emphasized on the brand built by RV Educational Institutions where the journey started with just 6 students in the year 1940. Sir also spoke about ethics and values and the relevance of research in the field of law.
Sri. N. R. Nandish spoke about the future of students at RV Institutions and also shared few insights into his experience of studying law. Sir also shed light on the relevance of learning law using all the latest tools and techniques.

National Service Scheme in association with Legal Services Clinic and Department of Physical Education, RVILS conducted a programme in light of International Yoga Day, 2024 on 21st June, 2024 at 7:30 AM. The programme was led by Mr. Srinivasa S. M., Assistant Director, Department of Physical Education, RVILS and was attended by volunteers of NSS, Legal Services Clinic and others. Ms. Athira L. Raj, student of 8th Semester B.A.,LL.B., who is a certified yoga instructor with 11 years of experience also helped in the smooth functioning of the programme. The programme included a one-hour yoga session and covered various asanas including Pranamasana, Hasta Uttanasana, Padahastana, etc. The session was also attended by the faculty members and other staff of the institution.

Students from 1st year to 4th year organized the First Farewell "Voyage of Memories" for the First Batch (2018-23) of RVILS. The event was graced by Prof.(Dr.) Anjina Reddy K R. Principal, RVILS along with faculties and Non-teaching staff.
RV Institute of Legal Studies, on 20th August, 2023 conducted its Graduation Day Ceremony for its 1st Graduating Batch of 2018-2023 at Sivananda Sarma Kalakshetra, DAPM RV Dental College, J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru, to mark the academic journey of our students.
The Chief Guest for the event was Hon'ble Shri Justice Prasanna B. Varale, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru. The event was presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, Bengaluru. The event was also graced by the auspicious presence of the Members of the Board, Trustees of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust and Governing Council Members of RV Institute of Legal Studies.
This day marks a significant milestone in the lives of our graduates and their parents, a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to knowledge.

The event was graced by the auspicious presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice R. Devdas, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Bengaluru as the Chief Guest of the event. The event was presided over by Dr. M.P. Shyam, President, Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, Bengaluru.
The programme commenced with a mesmerizing invocation dance by the students and the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. This was followed by a Welcome Address and reading of the Annual Report 2022-23. The Chief Guest then addressed the audience. The programme further continued with the prize distribution to all the students who had achieved excellence in academics, sports and various cultural events. The students were congratulated with applause and well wishes from the dignitaries.
The president then delivered the presidential address reflecting upon the institutional values and achievements.
One-Day Workshop on "Role of Evidence in the Administration of Criminal Justice" was organized on 5th July, 2023 at Shashwathi Auditorium for 4th and 5th year students of RVILS along with participants from other law colleges across Bengaluru.
The honorable guest speakers for the event were -
1. Shri Kamal Pant, Director General of Police (Recruitment), Bengaluru. He spoke on the topic- "Emerging Challenges of the Investigation"
2. Dr. Dinesh Rao, Prof. & HOD, Department of Forensic Medicine, AIIMS, Jammu. He spoke on the topic - "Role of Forensic Evidence in a Criminal Investigation"
3. Sri. K.B.K. Swamy, Senior Advocate, KBK Associates, Bengaluru. He spoke on the topic- "Criminal Justice and Trial Advocacy."
RVILS celebrated the International Women's Day 2023 in association with the Navajyothi School, Tattaguppe, Bangalore South, on 08-03-2023. The Prof. Dr. Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RVILS, was the Chief Guest and A. Thomas, Father and Director of Navajyothi School, Presided the event. Ms. Safalya S. Wagle and Ms. Maithra Badagi, Assistant Professors of Law delivered awareness lectures on the topics “Good Touch- Bad Touch” and on “Menstrual Hygiene” for the benefit of the girl students of the Navajyothi school.
On 26/12/2022, in commemoration of International Human Rights Day, an Inter Class Skit Competition was organised by the Human Rights Cell on the topic ‘Human Right’. A total of 07 teams participated and the following teams won the prizes:
1. I place: V semester, B.A., LL.B.
2. II place: VII semester, B.A., LL.B.
3. III place: I semester, B.A., LL.B.
The RV Institute of Legal Studies celebrated its Annual Day 2021-22 on the 17th of September, 2022 at the Shashwathi Auditorium. The day’s events began at 10:30 am and witnessed by all the students and faculties of the institution. The celebration was graced by several dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. C. Basavaraju, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi and the Guest of Honour, Prof. Dr. Sudesh V., Professor, University Law College, Bengaluru. The event was presided over by Sri. P.S. Nandakumar, Trustee of RSST with Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K.R., Principal, RV Institute of Legal Studies in attendance.
The beginning of the event was marked by a mesmerising bharathanatyam dance performances by the students and the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. This was followed by the deliverance of the welcome speech by the Principal. The Chief Guest then addressed the audience emphasising on the importance of cultural values and humility, and using the legal profession as a tool for societal betterment. This was followed by a speech by the Guest of Honour who encouraged the students to make best use of the opportunities and facilities provided to them during their legal education. The President then delivered the Presidential address reflecting upon the institutional achievements. The programme then continued with the prize distribution to all those students who had achieved excellence in academics, sports and in various cultural events. The students were congratulated with applause and well wishes from the dignitaries.
A One Day Faculty Development Programme on Professional Excellence for Teachers was organised on 10th June, 2022. It was attended by teaching faculty of various institutions. The programme had 3 sessions with Dr. T.V. Raju, Director Planning, RV Educational Institutions, Bengaluru; Dr. S. Ranganath, Former director, RV Institute of Sanskrit Studies, Bengaluru; and Sri Jayasimha, Professional Trainer, Bengaluru, as the resource persons.
