Activities
The Cultural Committee of MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (RVILS) coordinates cultural programmes and student events conducted throughout the academic year. These activities provide students with opportunities to participate in music, dance, theatre and other creative performances alongside their academic pursuits.
The committee organises programmes such as Freshers’ Day, cultural competitions, festive celebrations and institutional events, encouraging students to showcase their talents and contribute to the campus’s cultural life.
The MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies, in association with the Ministry of Kannada and Culture, organized a Cultural Programme on 19 June 2026 with the objective of promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and artistic expressions of Karnataka.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anjina Reddy K. R., Principal of the institution, who highlighted the significance of cultural activities in nurturing creativity, fostering social harmony, and preserving the state’s vibrant heritage among the younger generation.
The programme featured a variety of cultural performances showcasing the richness and diversity of Karnataka’s art and culture. Students enthusiastically participated in the event, displaying their talents and contributing to the festive atmosphere of the celebration.
The event provided an excellent platform for students to engage with the cultural heritage of the state and reinforced the institution’s commitment to promoting holistic education through academic as well as cultural activities.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Kannada and Culture for its support and collaboration in making the event a memorable and successful one.

The Cultural Week 2026 at MKPM RV Institute of Legal Studies (M. K. Panduranga Setty Memorial RV Institute of Legal Studies) was celebrated with great enthusiasm from 01 June 2026 to 05 June 2026. The week-long event provided students with a vibrant platform to showcase their creativity, artistic talents, and team spirit through a variety of engaging competitions and themed activities.
Day 1 – Cartoon Day (01 June 2026, Monday)
The Cultural Week commenced with Cartoon Day, where students embraced their favorite animated characters through creative attire and expressions. Competitions such as Nail Art, Mehendi, and Hairstyle witnessed enthusiastic participation, showcasing the artistic skills and creativity of the students.
Day 2 – Filmy Day (02 June 2026, Tuesday)
The campus came alive with the glamour and excitement of cinema during Filmy Day. Students dressed as iconic movie characters and participated in entertaining competitions including Cooking Without Fire and Pictionary, which encouraged teamwork, innovation, and quick thinking.
Day 3 – Halloween Day (03 June 2026, Wednesday)
The celebration continued with Halloween Day, adding an element of fun and creativity to the campus atmosphere. Students actively participated in Pot Painting, Face Painting, and Rangoli competitions, displaying remarkable artistic talent and imagination.
Day 4 – Monochrome Day (04 June 2026, Thursday)
On Monochrome Day, students celebrated the elegance of single-color themes through coordinated outfits and creative participation. The highlight of the day was the Treasure Hunt Competition, which tested participants’ problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
Day 5 – Ethnic Day (05 June 2026, Friday)
The Cultural Week concluded with the vibrant celebration of Ethnic Day, showcasing India’s rich cultural diversity and traditions. Students participated in Song, Dance, and Fashion Walk competitions, presenting captivating performances that reflected cultural heritage, talent, and confidence.
The week witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all semesters and created an atmosphere of joy, camaraderie, and cultural expression. Cultural Week 2026 successfully fostered creativity, teamwork, and holistic development, making it a memorable and enriching experience for the entire MKPM RVILS community.
The students brought laurels to the college at Lex Ultima 2026, a National Law Fest organised by SDM Law College, Mangluru from 24th to 26th April 2026. The event witnessed participation from law students across the country in various academic and advocacy-based competitions.
Ms. Prithigaa Sri S.U. (8th Semester B.A. LL.B.) secured the Winner position in the Bail Petition Competition, demonstrating exceptional advocacy and drafting skills. Further, Ms. Ankitha K.V. (4th Semester B.B.A. LL.B.) and Ms. Prithigaa Sri S.U. emerged as Runners-up in the Law Quiz Competition.

The competition conducted by RV Institute of Technology and Management (RVITM) as part of Sambhram’26 on 23rd and 24th April, 2026 brought together participants for a unique investigative and analytical challenge centred around a murder mystery theme.
Designed to test analytical reasoning, observation skills and legal aptitude, the competition offered participants an engaging platform to apply their legal knowledge in a simulated investigative setting, making it an enriching practical learning experience.
Students of MKPM RVILS — Hiren D. Sreedhar, Zaid Ahamad, Shashank R. and Kiran E.N. of 10th Semester B.B.A. LL.B. secured First Position in the competition and were awarded a cash prize for their outstanding performance.

Lexoria 2026, organised by University Law College on 9th and 10th April, 2026 brought together law students from across the country for a vibrant showcase of academic, analytical and co-curricular excellence.
The fest featured a range of competitions designed to test participants’ legal knowledge, advocacy skills, teamwork and analytical abilities. Students actively participated in events including Law Quiz, Crime Scene Investigation, Judgement Writing, Case Analysis and Legal Debate, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and competitive spirit throughout the fest.
Law Quiz Competition
- Aravind Bhat and Shri Kamal (4th Year, B.B.A. LL.B.) secured the Winner’s Position, demonstrating exceptional legal knowledge and analytical skills.
- Sadiya Shiffa R. and Swapna P. secured the Second Runners-up Position in the Law Quiz Team Event.
Crime Scene Investigation Competition
- Students actively participated in the event, showcasing teamwork and investigative abilities:

Legal Debate Competition
- Deepika K.M. (4th Year, B.B.A. LL.B.) represented our college and displayed commendable advocacy and articulation skills.
The Kannada Rajyothsava celebrations at the institution celebrated the rich cultural heritage and linguistic pride of Karnataka. The formal event was conducted at the Mangala Mantapa auditorium and began with an invocation dance performance.
The programme also featured the introduction of the Chief Guest, Simple Suni, whose contributions to the Kannada film industry were acknowledged. In his address, he shared insights from his journey in cinema and encouraged students to pursue their aspirations with dedication and confidence while remaining connected to their cultural roots.
The celebrations concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony recognising the winners of various competitions organised as part of Kannada Rajyothsava.
The event reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting cultural awareness, unity and student engagement while honouring Karnataka’s rich legacy.

As part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations, a two-day programme featuring Debate, Painting, Quiz and Essay Writing competitions was organised, providing students with a platform to express their ideas, creativity and analytical skills while celebrating the cultural heritage of Karnataka. The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different semesters.
The competitions too, were efficiently coordinated by Ms. Potnuru Monica, Coordinator of the Cultural Committee, ensuring the smooth conduct of the events and active student participation.
Through such initiatives, the institution continues to encourage literary engagement and cultural awareness among its students.
On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, the Legal Services Clinic organised a Pick and Speak Competition for students.
The programme was inaugurated by our Principal, who addressed the students on the significance of World Humanitarian Day and encouraged participation in activities that promote awareness, communication skills and social responsibility.
The competition witnessed the participation of 22 students from various semesters. Participants picked topics randomly and delivered short speeches, demonstrating critical thinking and public speaking abilities.

Muddu Krishna (Former Director of Kannada and Samskriti Ilake), Santa Shishunala Sharifa Award recipient and President of Karnataka Sugama Sangitha Parishad, Bengaluru, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he highlighted the cultural identity of Karnataka and the importance of preserving Kannada language and traditions.
The Guest of Honour, Shri. Shravan Prabha (Advocate, High Court of Karnataka), spoke to students about the relevance of language, culture and identity in professional life.
The programme was presided over by C.A. Dr. A.S. Vishnu Bharath (Trustee, RSST, and Governing Council Member, MKPM RVILS) Educational Institutions and Governing Council Member, RVILS. A fashion walk competition was organised for the fresher batch, with participation from over 36 students.
- Shreyas S. and Nainika S. (B.B.A. LL.B.) were crowned Mr. Freshie and Ms. Freshie.
- Tarun Kumar (B.B.A. LL.B.) and Vaishnavi Krishna Kashyap (B.A. LL.B.) were awarded the titles, Freshie Prince and Freshie Princess.
The celebration concluded with a performance by the college band “Dhun”, bringing the event to an energetic close.
